iPhone 18 Pro, 18 Pro Max, and iPhone Duo: Think Different — Upgrade Smart with 8760!
A new era at Apple begins with confidence and clarity. Apple just held its "Surprise and Shine" event, and true to the name, the lineup did not disappoint. Three new devices — iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max, and the brand-new iPhone Duo — are set to shake up the smartphone market with a refreshed design, deeper AI integration, and camera and video capabilities that push well past what last year's models could do. Unfortunately, the successor to the best-selling iPhone 17 wasn’t launched this September and is now expected in early spring 2027. We’ll keep an eye on it and keep you updated!
For the first time, Apple CEO John Ternus introduced the new iPhone 18 line up. Everything we expected. Everything that had already leaked. So, where are the innovations, Apple? Let's figure it out together!

The headline act: iPhone Duo, Apple's first foldable
We’ve seen foldable phones before, from Nokia in the early 2000s running Symbian OS, and in 2019 Samsung launched the Galaxy Fold on Android. But what did Apple do differently?
“iPhone Duo is the most transformational change to iPhone since the original. With an entirely new design and intuitive experiences, it shows what’s possible when hardware and software are engineered together and redefines what it means to use a foldable phone,” said John Ternus, Apple’s new CEO
The iPhone Duo uses a passport-style design that opens and closes like a book. Closed, you get a 5.4-inch cover display for everyday quick tasks. Open it up, and you're looking at a 7.6-inch interior display — big enough for streaming, gaming, multitasking, or getting real work done on the go.

It's a genuinely new form factor for Apple, and it puts the company in direct competition with the foldables that have quietly matured over the past few years. Whether it becomes the new standard or a niche flagship remains to be seen, but it's the most interesting hardware move Apple has made in years.
Key Specifications & Hardware

Dual Displays: Features a 5.4-inch outer display for one-handed use and unfolds into a massive 7.6-inch inner display with an anti-glare nano-texture finish. Both panels feature ProMotion, always-on technology, and up to 3,000 nits of peak brightness.
Processor: Powered by the new A20 Pro chip designed to easily handle graphics-intensive tasks and heavy multitasking.
Camera System: Equipped with a 48MP Dual Fusion camera that allows you to take high-resolution selfies using the main outer screen as a preview. It also features a hidden, under-display FaceTime camera on the inner display.
Biometrics & Accessories: Integrates Touch ID into the power button and includes upcoming Apple Pencil with USB-C support.
Connectivity: Built with an eSIM-only design globally to maximize internal space for its dual-battery system.
As expected, the device carries a high price tag. It starts at $2,999 CAD in Canada for 256 GB of storage. Pre-orders open on Friday, October 16, 2026, followed by an official release on Friday, October 23, 2026.

iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max: familiar face, serious upgrades under the hood

The phones have a similar look and feel to last year's 17 Pro and Pro Max, but get faster A20 Pro processors with improved CPUs, GPUs, and neural engine upgrades for running everything from games to AI models. The batteries are also updated, with the 18 Pro getting 24 hours of charge and the iPhone 18 Pro Max getting 30 hours. They also come with a variable mechanical aperture for better control of light and depth.

If the Duo is the showstopper, the 18 Pro and Pro Max are the workhorses. But almost everything that matters got a bump:
A20 Pro chip with improved CPU, GPU, and a new Dual 16-core Neural Engine, giving a serious lift to everything from gaming to on-device AI models. Apple's pairing it with a next-generation, larger vapour chamber for better sustained performance under heavy loads.
Battery life takes a real leap forward — iPhone 18 Pro is rated for up to 24 hours of video playback, and the Pro Max stretches to a class-leading 30+ hours of everyday use per charge, the longest of any iPhone to date.
New 48MP Fusion Main camera with a variable mechanical aperture — a first for iPhone — letting the camera automatically (or manually, with Pro controls) adjust for lighting and depth of field. That means better low-light shots, more control over background blur, and more creative range for anyone shooting photo or video seriously.
Faster charging, a redesigned Dynamic Island, and Siri AI — Apple's more conversational, more capable assistant — round out the package.

Now for the part everyone actually cares about: the Apple iPhone 18 Pro price
Apple hardware never comes cheap, and this generation is no exception — pricing has climbed by more than $100 across the board. Buy an iPhone 18 Pro 256GB outright from the Apple Store and you're looking at $1,749.
The alternative most people default to is financing or leasing through a carrier, usually bundled with an expensive premium plan and a monthly device payment. That combination can easily push your cellular bill past $120/month — and at the end of a two-year term, the device still might not even be yours.
So is there a better way? At 8760, we think so.
