What are Delivery Charges?

Delivery charges—also known as Distribution and Transmission (D&T) charges—reflect the cost of installing, operating, and maintaining the infrastructure that delivers electricity and natural gas to your business. This includes the wires that bring electricity and the pipelines that deliver natural gas to your location.

These charges are regulated and appear as a separate section on your utility bill, typically labeled as Delivery Charges or Distribution and Transmission Charges

Why Delivery Charges matter?

Every customer pays delivery charges for the supply of electricity and natural gas to its facilities.
 
Although delivery charges are regulated, they have been steadily increasing in recent years, particularly for electricity, and now make up a significant portion of your energy bill, sometimes totaling over 60% of the final billing amount. Delivery charges are expected to continue to rise well into the future.
